Windy Days and Strong Roots – Hungarian Folk at the Cambridge School
It was a windy day in Cambridge, but both our hair and our music held firm.
The Hungarian School in Cambridge, led by Zsuzsa Soltész Iffiú., has been running for ten years, supported by a truly professional, passionate and well-trained team. Week after week, they build a vibrant learning community filled with children, energy, and purpose – and we were honoured to be part of it once again.
On 12 October, we spent the morning singing, dancing and playing music with the children, as well as giving an interactive instrument demonstration.
In the afternoon, we held our methodological training session for educators and curriculum developers, focusing on folk dance and traditional children’s games in education.
The training was rooted in Tomi’s dance studies at university and supported by Bence’s expert violin playing – and once again, it proved to be a truly rich and shared learning experience.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute – as musicians, dancers, developers, and perhaps even as unofficial team members of this inspiring community.
We look forward to the next gathering!
Special thanks to all participating schools and groups:
