June 21 Hungarian School Day and Family Dance sessions
Selly Oak Methodist Church
Langleys Rd, Selly Oak, Birmingham B29 6HT, United Kingdom

In 2025 there is only one Saturday which happens to be on June 21st. Let’s make it special together — to listen and sing Hungarian Traditional Folk tunes and learn some dance moves. However, the ultimate goal is to have a great time together! As a stronghold of Folktone Production, the Römer family will be providing live traditional folk music during the event. It is such an honour to welcome our dance teachers for the day: Diána Szeidler-Ledniczky and Szabolcs Ladó, who join us from Bristol and Worcester.

10 éves a Csillagszeműek Anglia – jubileumi műsor a londoni Liszt Intézetben
10 Years of Csillagszeműek Anglia – Anniversary Show at the Liszt Institute
Liszt Institute - Hungarian Cultural Centre London
17-19 Cockspur St, London SW1Y 5BL, United Kingdom

This autumn marks the 10th anniversary of Csillagszeműek Anglia, and to celebrate the occasion, they are preparing a special performance on Saturday, 5 July 2025 at the Liszt Institute in London. The group was founded in 2014 by Kriszta and Gergely Paládi-Kovács, together with their children, Boldi and Mesi. Since then, Csillagszeműek Anglia has grown into more than just a dance group – it has become a vibrant community connecting generations through the living traditions of Hungarian folk dance and music. They describe their mission as follows: “Csillagszeműek Anglia offers Hungarian folk dance education to children aged 3–14 in the UK. Our dance group was founded in autumn 2014. We currently teach more than 120 children at various locations in London, as well as in Surrey and Hampshire counties.” As the UK representative of the Csillagszemű Dance Ensemble in Hungary, their teaching is based on the unique Timár method, which introduces children to folk dance in a playful yet deeply meaningful way. Their goal is for as many children as possible to encounter the still-living traditions of Hungarian folk culture from an early age – not as a distant concept, but as an experience that becomes a natural part of everyday life. This anniversary performance will be a celebration not only of the past ten years, but of the community, the educational journey, and the joy that dance brings – to the children, their families, and everyone who supports the work of Csillagszeműek Anglia.
